Let me take the guess work out of which vitamins and products to pick for your skincare essentials. The one thing to always remember is that you are putting these serums and products on your skin to help your skin health. It needs to penetrate the skin to be able to support the cells so the skin can act younger and healthier. You need to make a shift at the cell level to truly correct skin issues so the healthy skin will be revealed. That means you need to be mindful of the quality of products you purchase. You want your serums to penetrate in order to be able to even get to the targeted cells in the first place. Pharmaceutical Grade is a must when it comes to serums. These have been tested and researched, and they must be 99.9% pure, having shown to make a difference in the skin through actual testing.
A is for Vitamin A: Vitamin A helps to speed up healing, prevent breakouts and support the skin’s immune system. It also helps to promote natural moisturizing, giving it a radiant glow, assisting in promoting and maintaining a healthy dermis and epidermis. There are many different forms of Vitamin A, but you want to stick with Retinaldehyde. It has been shown to improve the firmness and elasticity, reduce fine lines, wrinkles and rough texture without irritating or causing dryness. Many other forms will cause skin irritation or frankly just do nothing.
B is for Vitamin B3 or Niacinamide: This vitamin is an overlooked skincare serum, but in my opinion has so many benefits for almost every skin type. It has been shown to prevent signs of aging, reduce acne, brighten, soften lines, minimize pore size and strengthen a weak epidermal layer. In short, it helps restore cellular energy and repair damaged DNA from both external and internal stressors helping to protect skin cells from damage. It is even great for sensitive skin as it has anti-inflammatory properties which lessens redness in the skin, preserves hydration and strengthen the skin barrier.
C is for Vitamin C: So many use the wrong form of Vitamin C. You are looking for Ascorbic Acid or L-Ascorbic Acid which is the most stable form of Vitamin C. You also always want it in a serum, not a cream, oil, or toner, as you want this to penetrate into the skin to support cell health. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that will neutralize free radical damage, promote collagen production, inhibit melanin production which aids in reversing or stopping hyperpigmentation. It works great for acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, rough texture, evening out skin tone and boosting your skin immunity. Many formulations use too high of a percent which can be very irritating. We recommend starting between 5% to 10%. Vitamin C also breaks down quickly from sun exposure and heat, so you want one that has a bottle that will be protected from this exposure.
The question is can you use all three together? Just like peanut butter and chocolate taste good separately, together it is just so much better. I personally recommend Vitamin C in the AM with a Vitamin B as this helps protect you from sun exposure. For PM, I use Vitamin A with a Vitamin B. While I sleep these vitamins can assist in cell repair and healing of the skin.
In our SHOP you will find Vitamin A (Retinaldehyde) in Calm, Correct and Renew. We suggest starting with Calm and work your way up. Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide) is in Replenish, Refresh and Correct. Vitamin C is found in Catalyst AC11, which also has DNA repair for an adding bonus.
